Non-Uniform Day

Celebrating a wonderful young life

As we approach the end of August, it will be one year since the St. Mark's community lost our much-loved Lily-Eva Cole. Lily-Eva was a valued pupil at both Wyndham Park and St. Mark's, where she brought kindness, joy and enthusiasm to school life. She loved spending time with her friends and embraced every opportunity to learn. At the beginning of Year 5, Lily-Eva became seriously ill and, after showing incredible courage and strength throughout her treatment, she very sadly passed away at the end of the academic year.

We have been working with Lily-Eva's mum to plan a special day that will not only celebrate Lily-Eva's life and the happiness she brought to so many, but also raise money for the Stars Appeal Children's Ward. This charity holds a very special place in the hearts of Lily-Eva's family, as the dedicated staff cared for her with such compassion throughout her illness.

We would love for our school community to come together on Tuesday 8th September, which would have been Lily-Eva's 11th birthday, to honour her memory. On this day, children are invited to come to school in non-uniform in exchange for a £1 donation. It would be especially lovely to see everyone wearing Lily-Eva's favourite colours: aqua, pastel shades, purple, pink and blue.

To round off the day, we will be holding a cake sale after school. If you enjoy baking, we would be incredibly grateful for any donations of cakes or sweet treats. These can be dropped off at the school office at the start of the day. Our Year 6 children will be helping to run the sale, and any clearly named cake tins or containers will be returned afterwards.

We hope you will be able to support us as we remember our wonderful Lily-Eva and celebrate the lasting impact she had on our school community. Together, we can raise as much as possible for the Stars Appeal Children's Ward in her memory.
